A little over a month ago I did my first ‘how-to’ video for L’Oréal Paris NZ, showcasing how to create a flattering natural makeup; it’s now made its debut on Facebook, so I can share it with you on my blog.

There were plenty of winners on the day but Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway not only took home the Oscar, they were all also winners in the beauty category. To be honest, compared to the Golden Globes I found many of the looks to grace the red carpet underwhelming; but there were some standout beauties and most of them had tousled DIY looking hair and wore very understated makeup, which on a gorgeous face works fantastically. Pink was definitely the colour of choice.

There’s nothing like romance to make a girl feel special; and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to put your female wiles into good use. This year I’m making it all about being ultra-feminine and pretty, and giving the sexy vixen a year off. Pink is going to be the new red. So swap the red lingerie for something in a shade of pink or white and forgo the tight-tight dress, ultra short hemlines or low plunging necklines for something softer in pastel coloured lace or chiffon where only a tease of skin and/or lingerie can be seen underneath – so much more tantalizing.
